According to the Auto Care Association, the Vehicle Configuration Database (VCDB) is a fully normalized, relational database of vehicle configurations for passenger cars, light trucks, and medium and heavy duty trucks sold in the US, Canada and Mexico. Additional information from the ACA can be found here: Autocare.org
The VCDB Viewer enables azFitment users to look up vehicles that potentially fit their product. In addition to Year/Make/Model, the database also includes sub-model, region and other pertinent information based on the type of part the user is selling. For example, when selling engine parts you need to define attributes such as displacement, number of cylinders, CID, turbo or normally aspirated, etc. The viewer helps you do your research and ensure the accuracy of your fitment data. If you were to input a vehicle that doesn't exist within the VCDB, you would not be able to export this data via XML into Amazon or any other receivers of fitment data.
To access our VCDB Viewer, a component of the azFitment Auto Care Database Viewer, simply navigate to the main menu located at the top of your home page and click 'More Features' and select 'Research' from it.
The first tab in the ACDB viewer is the VCDB Viewer.
From here, you can view what is actually in the ACES database, filtered by Year, Vehicle, Make and Model. It's one of the fastest ways to validate your fitments before you even submit to Amazon.
